Democratic Policy Committee to hold hearing
on state budget cuts Tuesday in Scranton
HARRISBURG, Aug. 12 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing on state budget cuts from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Scranton High School auditorium, 63 Munchak Way, Scranton.
State Reps. Ken Smith and Kevin Murphy, both D-Lackawanna, requested the hearing and will serve as co-chairmen. The hearing will consider the impact budget cuts are having on communities in northeastern Pennsylvania as the Policy Committee evaluates what needs will be required for next year’s state budget.
