Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing

on state budget cuts Tuesday in Uniontown

 

HARRISBURG, Sept. 12 –  House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing on state budget cuts from 2 p.m. to

5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Penn State Fayette-The Eberly Campus, The Community Center’s Magerko Auditorium, One University Drive, Uniontown.

 

State Rep. Deberah Kula, D-Fayette/Westmoreland, who requested the hearing, will serve as its co-chairperson. The hearing will consider the impact budget cuts are having on communities in southwestern Pennsylvania as the Policy Committee evaluates what needs will be required for next year’s state budget.

 

The updated hearing agenda is:

·         2 p.m.  – Welcome and opening remarks

·         2:10 p.m. – Education panel:
