House Democratic Policy Committee to hold hearing on Marcellus Shale landowner rights and environmental issues Thursday in Williamsport
HARRISBURG, Oct. 25 – The House Democratic Policy Committee will hold a public hearing to examine landowners’ rights and environmental issues in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale region from
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Lycoming College in the Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall on the corner of E. Fourth and Basin Sts. in Williamsport, Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today.
State Rep. Rick Mirabito, D-Lycoming and a Policy Committee vice chair, requested the hearing and will serve as its chairman.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 10:10 a.m. – Sonya Barclay, landowner, Cogan Station
- 10:30 a.m. – Sarah Battisti, director of government and public affairs, EXCO Resources, Inc.
- 10:50 a.m. – Emily Krafjack, community outreach coordinator, Wyoming County
- 11:10 a.m. – William desRosiers, field director, Energy in Depth
- 11:30 a.m. – Ted Stroter, retired chemist and environmental safety engineer
- 11:50 a.m. – Panel from Lycoming College:
Ø Dr. Jonathan Williamson, chair of the Department of Political Science and director of the Center for the Study of Community and the Economy (CSCE)
Ø Dr. Bonita Kolb, associate professor of Business and co-director of CSCE
