Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing on making English the official language of Pa. Thursday in Philadelphia
HARRISBURG, Oct. 31 – Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Democratic Policy Committee will hold a public hearing to examine the possible impacts of pending state legislation that would make English the official language of Pennsylvania from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Antonia Pantoja Charter School, 4101 N. American St., Philadelphia.
State Rep. Angel Cruz, D-Phila., requested the hearing and will serve as its co-chairman. State Rep. Babette Josephs, D-Phila., and Democratic chairwoman of the House State Government Committee, will also be in attendance.
