Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing on
Pa. transportation issues Monday in Philadelphia
PennDOT and SEPTA to testify
HARRISBURG, Nov. 22 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing on transportation issues from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 in Room 110 AB of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St., Philadelphia.
Sturla said the hearing will focus on the Philadelphia region’s challenges in dealing with transportation infrastructure and issues included in the Governor’s Transportation Funding Advisory Commission’s August 2011 Report.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 2 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 2:10 p.m. – Les Toaso, district six executive, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
- 2:40 p.m. – Jeffrey Knueppel, chief engineer, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority
- 3:10 p.m. – David Kilmer, chairman, Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association
- 3:40 p.m. – Brian Eury, regional director of legislative services, Delaware Valley Healthcare Council of HAP
- 4:10 p.m. – Closing remarks
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
