Kavulich hosts Youth & Government Forum at Keystone College
HARRISBURG, March 9 – State Rep. Sid Michaels Kavulich is partnering with Keystone College to present an eye-opening experience regarding state government to high school students throughout his legislative district.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, students from area high schools will have the opportunity to engage in discussion on topics including the electoral process; the media’s role in government; job creation and government opportunities; and an open forum that will include discussion on education, transportation, welfare, environment, and other topics of current interest.
“I am thrilled to bring this opportunity to high school students throughout the district,” Kavulich said. “I hope they are able to see that what they are studying in school has relevance to everyday life decisions.”
Each session will be moderated by panelists of professionals with experience in various facets of state government and media relations. Kavulich will participate as a panelist on the Open Forum, along with state Senator John Blake, and Lackawanna County Commissioner Jim Wansacz.
Kavulich wishes to extend his appreciation to those involved in the event including Keystone College President, Dr. Edward Boehm and Event Coordinator Crystal Seigle.
“The forum would not be possible without the hard work of Dr. Boehm and Ms. Seigle,” Kavulich said. “I want to also thank the panelists who are taking time out of their busy schedules to provide this enlightening experience to students in my district.”
