Eachus comments on Speaker McCall's announcement to not run for re-election
HARRISBURG, Jan. 12 – State Rep. Todd A. Eachus, D-Luzerne, offered the following comments regarding Speaker Keith McCall's, D-Carbon, decision to not seek re-election to the state House of Representatives in 2010:
"With the retirement of Speaker McCall, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives will lose one of its great leaders and statesmen. I have had the privilege of working with Keith over the last 14 years. He has been a mentor and friend, and he will be sorely missed.
"He has represented the people of northeastern Pennsylvania with great pride and distinction, and has shown an unyielding commitment to working families. He will leave behind a legacy of accomplishments, including advancing significant policies in transportation, consumer affairs, economic development and energy.
"It is an honor to serve with him in the General Assembly, and as a member of the House Democratic leadership team. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
