Mundy announces $30,254 recycling performance grant
HARRISBURG, Dec. 2 – State Rep. Phyllis Mundy, D-Luzerne, announced today that a state recycling performance grant has been awarded to West Pittston.
The grant was awarded by the state Department of Environmental Protection based on the municipalities' population and recycling rate. The grant announced today is based on recycling efforts in the 2007 calendar year, for which West Pittston is being awarded $30,254 for recycling 1,212 tons of material in the borough.
"I am pleased that the residents of West Pittston are being rewarded by the state Department of Environmental Protection for the work they have done to protect our environment," Mundy said.
