Mundy presents House citation to local educator
HARRISBURG, Dec. 8 – State Rep. Phyllis Mundy, D-Luzerne, recently presented a Pennsylvania House of Representatives citation to a constituent for his induction into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
The citation honors Leslie Nicholas as one of only five teachers from across the United States to be chosen for the honor, and as the third teacher ever to be selected from Pennsylvania. Nicholas teaches English at Wyoming Valley West Middle School.
"Mr. Nicholas approaches each day's work with the highest of professional standards, carrying the torch of education with skill and dedication, virtues he readily and genuinely displays," Mundy said. "The House of Representatives is proud to recognize those gifted individuals who challenge, inspire and teach children, our most valuable resource."
Speaker of the House Keith R. McCall, D-Carbon, and state Rep. John Yudichak, D-Luzerne, also sponsored the citation.
