Pashinski plans resolution to promote products made in Pa. and America
HARRISBURG, March 5 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, will soon introduce a resolution in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives that would encourage residents to buy goods and services produced in Pennsylvania and in the United States.
Pashinski said when goods are made overseas at a cheaper cost, there is a greater risk of unsafe products being shipped to the U.S.
"The recent scare over the lead content in children's toys is a good example of products being made overseas that contain defects," Pashinski said.
In addition, Pashinski said global expansion over the last decade has resulted in the loss of jobs for millions of people in Pennsylvania and across the nation.
"I am encouraging my constituents to buy products made in Pennsylvania and in the U.S.," Pashinski said.
The Luzerne County lawmaker is hopeful the resolution will garner bipartisan support.
