to present American, Pennsylvania flags to Lehighton schools

LEHIGHTON, May 7 – State Rep. Keith McCall, D-Carbon, joined representatives from the Lehighton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary today to present American and Pennsylvania flags to Lehighton schools.

"The American flag is so much more than a piece of cloth, it's the ultimate symbol of our nation and a source of pride and inspiration to hundreds of millions of people in America and around the world," McCall said. "I'm very proud to stand with the members of the auxiliary and help our students always be able to find inspiration in the history of our nation and our Commonwealth."

"The auxiliary and I believe very highly in the support of our great state and our great country, and we wanted to make sure our young people can be just as proud of Pennsylvania and America as we are," Legion Auxiliary Americanism Chairman Sue Anthony said. "I want to thank Keith McCall for his help in getting these new flags for the Lehighton schools, and I know the students will appreciate these flags and learn even more about what these symbols represent."

The flags were presented at a ceremony in the Lehighton High School Auditorium, and included six state flags, 10 small classroom American flags, and two large American flags to be flown outdoors. This is the second time McCall has secured flags for the Lehighton School District.
