Goodman bill to end requirement for hunters to display license passes House
HARRISBURG, March 16 -- State Rep. Neal P. Goodman's bill that would end the requirement for hunters to display their license on the back of their outmost garment unanimously passed the House of Representatives today.
"Today's vote shows this is good, commonsense legislation supported by hunters from across the state," said Goodman," D-Schuylkill. "By removing this requirement, hunters will be able to carry wallet-sized licenses like they do in 45 other states."
Goodman said it will save money and time for hunters who lose their license when trudging through dense brush, climbing under a fence or exiting a duck blind.
"In the last six years, hunters have lost 51,314 licenses at a total cost of $307,884," Goodman said.
Hunters still will be required to carry all proper forms of identification covered by state law, Goodman said.
