House of Representatives Scholarship offered to high school seniors

Each year, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives offers college scholarships to two high school seniors who will pursue a higher education in the coming academic year.

The amount of each scholarship is equal to the cost of one semester of tuition at a State System of Higher Education university – about $2,500 – but the scholarship can be used at any Pennsylvania college, university or career school.

Scholarships are awarded based on students' academic performance, community service, extracurricular activities and financial need. The deadline to apply for the 2008-09 Pennsylvania House of Representatives' Scholarship is April 1.
