Bonus applications for Persian Gulf Conflict veterans available Friday

Applications for the state Persian Gulf Conflict Veterans’ Bonus Program will be available online for the first time Friday, April 4.

I introduced and the General Assembly enacted the legislation creating this program to ensure that Pennsylvania veterans of the first Persian Gulf War received a bonus, just as Pennsylvania veterans of other wars have. You can read more about the program here.

To qualify for the program, a person must have served on active duty in the Persian Gulf Theater of Operations during the period from Aug. 2, 1990, to Aug. 31, 1991; received the Southwest Asia Service Medal; have been a legal resident of Pennsylvania at the time of military service; and have served under honorable conditions.

Applications will be available online at www.milvet.state.pa.us .
