Goodman, Seip team up with Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce
for next week’s Penn National job fair
POTTSVILLE, Nov. 7 – In conjunction with the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, state Reps. Neal Goodman, D-Schuylkill, and Tim Seip, D-Schuylkill/Berks, announced that Hollywood Casino at Penn National will hold a job fair in Schuylkill County next week.
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to
6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Fairlane
Village Mall in Pottsville.
“Penn National is a huge attraction for this area, and the opening of the slots casino is sure to increase the prominence of horse racing in Pennsylvania,” Goodman said. “Anyone who is searching for new employment should consider attending this job fair to learn more about the wide range of career opportunities the facility will offer, whether it is in hospitality, accounting or maintenance.”
Seip said, “Once it’s fully up and running, the integrated racing and gaming operation is expected to employ about 1,000 people. We want to make sure Schuylkill County residents share in those opportunities.”
Goodman agreed. "This is about keeping our promise to create family-sustaining jobs, and we're pleased to announce this job fair."
Both Goodman and Seip thanked Lori Kane, director of the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce, for her efforts in coordinating the event with Hollywood Casino, Schuylkill CareerLink and the many other Schuylkill County vendors. This job fair will showcase the many quality job opportunities available to job seekers in the county.
Construction began earlier this year on the 365,000-square-foot casino at Penn National. The facility is expected to open in February.
