Goodman bill to end requirement for hunters to display license clears committee

HARRISBURG, Dec. 16 – State Rep. Neal P. Goodman's bill that would end the requirement for hunters to display their license while hunting was unanimously approved by the state House Game and Fisheries Committee today.

"Hunters now must display their license as a back tag whenever hunting," said Goodman, D-Schuylkill. "By removing this requirement, hunters will be able to carry wallet-sized licenses as they do in 45 other states."

Goodman also said that the change would keep hunters from being required to poke holes in expensive outer garments.

"The current requirement is inconvenient for hunters, particularly those who wish to change coats while in the field."

The bill now goes to the full House for its consideration.
