Seip hosting public meeting June 4 for hunters, owners of sporting dogs,
about proposed Dog Law changes
PINE GROVE, May 22 – State Rep. Tim Seip will host a public meeting June 4 for area hunters and owners of sporting dogs to hear about proposed changes to Pennsylvania's Dog Law.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 at Schuylkill County Park in the Sweet Arrow Lake clubhouse.
At Seip's request, the meeting will include Jessie Smith, special deputy secretary of agriculture for dog law enforcement, and staff of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, with committee Chairman Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, attending if that day's House session schedule permits.
"There has been a lot of controversy and confusion about the proposed changes to the Dog Law, and this meeting will be a good opportunity for local hunters and owners of sporting dogs to find out more and to make their concerns known," Seip said. "I appreciate Chairman Hanna making himself and his staff available for this meeting, and I am equally appreciative that Jessie Smith has agreed to participate."
Directions to the meeting site from Interstate 81 southbound are as follows: Take I-81 south to the Ravine exit. Turn right onto Route 125 south and go about 3 miles toward Pine Grove. At the traffic light, turn left onto Route 443 east. Travel about 2 miles and turn left onto Shoreline Drive, also named West Lake Drive.
