House Judiciary Committee approves two bills
HARRISBURG, June 23 – State Rep. Tom Caltagirone, D-Berks, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said the committee today approved two bills, sending them to the full House of Representatives for consideration:
House Bill 1956, introduced by Rep. Glen Grell, R-Cumberland, would revise the state's Uniform Arbitration Act, which is used to resolve civil disputes without the need for formal trials.
House Bill 2576, introduced by Rep. Josh Shapiro, D-Montgomery, would make it a felony for any teacher, coach or youth education instructor to engage in sexual relations with any student under the age of 18.
