Caltagirone: Local small business awarded state funding

READING, July 24 – State Rep. Thomas Caltagirone announced the Berks County Solid Waste Authority has been awarded a $26,617 state grant through a program designed to award small businesses and households for undertaking projects that reduce waste, pollution or energy use.

The grant will be used to reimburse 50 percent of the costs for developing and operating a household hazardous waste collection event held at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Exeter last April.

The money was awarded through the state Department of Environmental Protection's Pennsylvania Small Business and Household Pollution Grant program.
