Mann, House Majority Policy Committee hold local hearing focused on health-care costs in Pa.
ALLENTOWN, March 28 – State Rep. Jennifer Mann, D-Lehigh, and members of the House Majority Policy Committee held a public hearing in Allentown today on making health care more affordable for Pennsylvanians.
Majority Policy Committee Chairman Todd Eachus, D-Luzerne, gave opening remarks, followed by commentary from Mann and testimony from representatives of business, insurance and labor organizations.
“It’s easy to say that every Pennsylvanian should have access to affordable health care, but it’s a lot harder to get lawmakers to agree on how we can pay for that health care,” Eachus said. “Representative Mann took charge and encouraged the committee to come to Allentown and bring together a diverse panel of experts to work on a common-sense solution to solving the health-care funding crisis so we can keep the Commonwealth healthy.”
“Too many people are going without health-care insurance
because they can’t afford to pay for it.
We have to change the system so that all Pennsylvanians are able to get the
care they need at a reasonable cost,” Mann said.
The hearing is one of several taking place across the state to gather public input on health care in Pennsylvania.
