Mann: Allentown residents to receive estimated $537 in property tax relief
HARRISBURG, May 1 – State Rep. Jennifer L. Mann, D-Lehigh, today announced the state Department of Education’s estimates that homeowners will receive this summer from the slots-funded property tax relief fund.
Allentown School District homeowners will receive an estimated $537, and Parkland Area School
District homeowners will receive an estimated $117.
"The estimated $537 in relief for Allentown homeowners will be a significant savings for local residents," Mann said. "Allentown residents have been struggling to pay their property taxes, which have gone up every year for the last 10 years."
She also reminded residents that June 30 is the deadline to apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, which provides seniors 65 and older, widows and widowers 50 or older, and people with disabilities who are 18 or older with help to pay rent or property taxes. Residents may call Mann’s Allentown office at 610-821-5577 for assistance in applying for the program.
