Mann: area residents can get free, confidential assistance

finding local, state, federal and private benefits through her office

HARRISBURG, June 4 – State Rep. Jennifer Mann, D-Lehigh, said local residents can find out what local, state, federal, private and nonprofit benefits they may qualify for by visiting with a benefits ambassador at her office.

Trained volunteers will be available to help constituents find out about services that can help them using a program called BenefitsCheckUp. Some of the services people may be eligible for include prescription drugs, nutrition programs and food stamps, property tax and rent rebate programs, cash and housing assistance, home energy assistance, in-home supportive services, legal services, health-care programs, and employment programs.

"This is a free, confidential service. It’s definitely something people should take advantage of – you never know what you might qualify for," Mann said.

She added that her staff will continue to assist constituents with all state-related programs, including the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, PACE/PACENET applications and Reduced Vehicle Registration renewals.

For more information or to schedule an appointment with a benefits ambassador, residents can contact Mann’s office at 610-821-5577.

People with Internet access can also visit www.lvagingmatters.org and run their own BenefitsCheckUp report.
