Mann resolution naming Sept. 8-14 as 'Young Professionals Week' adopted
HARRISBURG, Sept. 16 – State Rep. Jennifer Mann, D-Lehigh, said a resolution she sponsored naming Sept. 8-14, 2008, as "Young Professionals Week" in Pennsylvania was adopted in the House.
House Resolution 844 recognizes the Pennsylvania Young Professionals, an umbrella organization of regional young professional groups across the Commonwealth. PaYP works to address issues critical to its members, such as "brain drain," economic development and urban decay.
Mann said that these young professionals are dedicated, civic-minded people who have a clear vision for making their communities great places to live, work and play.
"Participating in young professional groups strengthens the bonds that members have to their cities and towns," Mann said. "This increases the chances that they will stay and contribute to future growth and success of the Commonwealth."
PaYP was initiated after the success of ImPAct, an annual young professionals' statewide conference and has expanded to 20 regional organizations across the Commonwealth.
