Brennan: 133rd Legislative District receives recycling grant
HARRISBURG, Nov. 29 – State Rep. Joseph F. Brennan is pleased to announce that a grant has been awarded to the City of Bethlehem in the 133rd Legislative District for its recycling efforts.
The grant is part of the state’s Recycling Performance Grant Program for the 2005 calendar year, and is based on the tons of material that was recycled and the city’s population.
Bethlehem will receive $375,693 based on 14,155 tons of material recycled.
The Recycling Performance Grant Program provides an incentive for Pennsylvania communities to increase the amount of material recovered through recycling and to promote economic growth in the Commonwealth.
The grants are awarded in addition to other Department of Environmental Protection funding that is provided to municipalities to establish and maintain recycling programs.
