King announces $41,993 in grants for Bucks County

HARRISBURG, June 11 – State Rep. Chris King, D-Bucks, announced today that the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority will receive a $4,097 grant under the state's Sewage Facilities Planning Grants program to reimburse 50 percent of the cost of preparing the authority's official sewage plan and revisions to the plan for sewage systems.

A $37,896 state recycling grant also will be awarded to Bucks County under the Department of Environmental Protection’s County Recycling Coordinator Grants program. The grant will be used to reimburse 50 percent of the county recycling coordinator’s salary and expenses.

"This grant ensures that recycling efforts in Bucks County will continue, while saving county taxpayers money," King said.

Employment in the recycling and reuse industry provides jobs for more than 81,000 Pennsylvanians, generating $18.4 billion in sales and an estimated $305 million in tax revenues annually.
