Gerber helps Conshohocken Police purchase night vision goggles
CONSHOHOCKEN, May 1 – State Rep. Mike Gerber, D-Montgomery, last Friday presented the Conshohocken Police Department with $5,000 to purchase several new pairs of night vision goggles.
Gerber said the night vision technology will help the department's tactical team to safely respond to high-risk situations that occur during the night or in areas with little or no light. Currently, officers are forced to carry handheld lights, leaving them with little or no ability to remain concealed.
Gerber believes the night vision goggles will allow officers to stay hidden in the dark, giving them greater protection and an enhanced ability to protect and serve the people of Conshohocken.
