Gerber honors local veterans at ceremony Friday

CONSHOHOCKEN, July 18 – Today, state Rep. Mike Gerber hosted a ceremony to honor men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and live in the 148th Legislative District. This was the third annual veterans’ event that Gerber has hosted.

Gerber presented veterans at the ceremony with a Pennsylvania medal of honor and a special citation from the state House of Representatives.

"Our veterans have sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms. I just hope this ceremony showed them all just how much we appreciate their service," Gerber said.

Gerber welcomed past honorees and new veterans living in his legislative district. His first ceremony of this kind was held in 2006. In 2007, Gerber hosted a trip to Washington, D.C., during which veterans and their families visited the war memorials.

"My staff and I take great pleasure in putting these events together," Gerber said. "We believe it is critical that we, as a community, honor those that have provided all of us the highest form of public service," Gerber added.
