Gerber: Free breast cancer screenings available Dec. 11
CONSHOHOCKEN, Nov. 9 – Rep. Mike Gerber, D-Montgomery, is again partnering with Fox Chase Cancer Center to host its Mobile Mammogram program and provide free breast cancer screenings.
This is the third consecutive year Gerber has helped make the free screenings available. Fox Chase health-care professionals will provide free breast cancer screenings from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 at the Fellowship House, 515 Harry St., Conshohocken, Pa.
Appointments are required. Residents should call Gerber's office at 610-832-1679 for more information and to make an appointment. Mammography screening requirements include:
· Must be 40 or older.
· Must provide the name and address of at least one doctor.
· Must provide a prescription from your doctor.
· Must not be breast-feeding or have breast-fed within the last nine months.
· Must not have had a breast cancer diagnosis within the last two years.
· Must not be under treatment for breast cancer.
· Must not have had a mammogram in 12 months.
