Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus and Urban X-pression television show to host second annual fashion show in Phila.
PHILADELPHIA, July 30 – Members of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus, chaired by state Rep. Thaddeus Kirkland, D-Delaware, and the Urban X-pression television show will be holding their second annual fashion show entitled, “All About the Teens - Dressing for Success and a Better Attitude” from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 at First District Plaza, 3801 Market St.
Kirkland said more than 600 participants attended the 2006 teen fashion show. The Delaware County legislator said he is hoping that even more residents will attend this year’s event.
“The fashion show is a day of health, fashion, education, entertainment and empowerment for our youth,” Kirkland said. “Many of our community leaders will talk about ways our youth can build their self-esteem through fashion.”
Kirkland said the doors open at 2:30 p.m. and everyone in the community is invited to this free event. The “All About Teens Fashion Show” will be aired on the Urban X-pressions television show.
Kirkland said the broadcast of the fashion show is expected to reach 3 million households in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
“Some of the area’s top clothes designers will participate in the event, so I am encouraging children and their parents to come out and have a good time,” Kirkland said.
