House adopts Kirkland resolution recognizing
wellness month in September
HARRISBURG, Sept. 26 – State Rep. Thaddeus Kirkland, D-Delaware, said he is pleased that members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously adopted his resolution naming this week, Sept. 24-30, “Health, Wealth and Wellness Week” in Pennsylvania.
Kirkland’s resolution (H.R. 397) is intended to enhance people’s awareness of the need to work together to improve the health, wealth and wellness of residents, students, businesses, organizations and faith-based entities.
“The purpose of my resolution is to set aside a week to remind people and community leaders to work together to improve the quality of life of all Pennsylvanians in towns and cities of all sizes and in all regions,” Kirkland said. “I am hopeful that by doing so, we can help to minimize and eventually eliminate the opportunity for crime and other problems to take hold.”
Kirkland is chairman of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus.
