NBCSL elects Kirkland vice chairman
HARRISBURG, Dec. 3 – State Rep. Thaddeus Kirkland, D-Delaware, was elected to serve as vice chairman of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators at the organization's 34th annual legislative conference currently underway in Atlanta, Ga.
"I take this position very seriously and I am honored to be elected as vice chairman," Kirkland said.
"I will do my best to help bring many of the issues that are important to minorities to the forefront of the Pennsylvania legislature."
The National Black Caucus of State Legislators has 13 policy committees. Kirkland said the committees meet to exchange ideas, network and find solutions to issues facing all Americans.
Founded in 1977, the NBCSL is a nonpartisan organization with more than 600 members in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
