Lentz to hold workshop to help residents get unclaimed property
BROOKHAVEN, July 2 - State Rep. Bryan R. Lentz, D-Delaware, is hosting a free workshop to help residents determine if they are the rightful owner of property currently being held by the Pennsylvania treasury's Bureau of Unclaimed Property.
The Pennsylvania Treasurer's Office currently has over $1 billion in unclaimed property from abandoned bank accounts, forgotten stocks, checks that have not been cashed and many other sources.
The event will be held at 7
p.m. Thursday, July 10 at the Brookhaven
Municipal Building, 2 Cambridge Road, Brookhaven.
Light refreshments will be served.
Lentz said Pennsylvania residents can search for unclaimed property the state may be holding by visiting www.patreasury.org, or by calling toll free 1-800-222-2046.
Searching for and recovering unclaimed property held by the state is free; residents who are contacted by someone offering to help them search for unclaimed property for a fee should ignore those solicitations.
For more information, call Lentz’s constituent service office at 610-544-7301.
