HARRISBURG, Feb. 12 – Nine Delaware County municipalities received a total of nearly $1.68 million under the state Department of Environmental Protection's Recycling Development and Implementation Grant Program, state Rep. Greg Vitali announced.
"These grants reimburse counties and municipalities 90 percent of eligible expenses to start recycling programs," said Vitali, D-Delaware. "It's a smart investment of state money that helps protect our environment."
The Delaware County municipalities within Vitali's 166th Legislative District that received grants are:
· Haverford Township, $228,232 for a yard waste program;
· Marple Township, $41,454 for a yard waste program and curbside recycling;
· Radnor Township, $495,000 for a yard waste processing program.
