Vitali to host Senior Citizen Crime Prevention Seminar on Sept. 11
Identity theft, bank fraud and home improvement scams to be discussed
Havertown, Sept. 3 – State Rep. Greg Vitali, D-Delaware, will host an informational meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at Haverford Township Library, 1601 Darby Road in Havertown, for seniors who want to learn more about the threat of fraud and scams to the elder community.
The seminar will teach seniors ways to avoid being victimized and how to alert local law enforcement. The seminar is open to the public and reservations are not necessary.
Dave Shallcross, community liaison for the Office of Attorney General, will share the latest tactics that criminals are using to commit fraud and scams in communities during this interactive seminar. He will also present some basic information on protecting yourself from identity theft.
