Mike O’Brien reminds constituents to renew Do Not Call registration

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 5 -- State Rep. Mike O’Brien, D-Phila., said constituents who registered for the state’s Do Not Call list five years ago need to renew their registration so that telemarketers do not start calling them again.

Pennsylvania’s Do Not Call list was started in 2002 and allows residents to register their phone numbers on the list for five years. It allows people to avoid getting calls from telemarketers. If a phone number was first listed in 2002, it must be re-registered by Sept. 15, or the number will expire from the list.

The law applies to residential land lines and wireless phones. Pennsylvanians may register or re-register for the Do Not Call list by calling toll free 1-888-777-3406 or visiting www.nocallsplease.com.

Anyone in the 175th Legislative District who needs assistance in registering on the Do Not Call list, or with any state-related matter, is invited to contact O’Brien’s district office at 610 N. Second St.; the phone number is 215-503-3245. O’Brien can also be reached online at www.pahouse.com/OBrien.
