Cruz announce $200,000 for Esperanza Health Center
HARRISBURG, March 9 – State Rep. Angel Cruz, D-Phila., today announced that the Esperanza Health Center will receive a $200,000 Community Primary Care Challenge Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
"This grant will allow Esperanza Health Center and the Department of Health to continue their collaborative efforts to increase access to primary medical care services in Philadelphia," Cruz said. "I commend everyone at Esperanza for their work in the community and congratulate them on this funding."
The Community Primary Care Challenge Grant Program has been in existence since 1993. The goal of this program is increasing access to primary medical and dental services in areas of
Pennsylvania that the federal government has designated as medically underserved. This program has awarded 126 grants totaling more than $18.1 million to local community organizations across the state.
