Cruz announces Census 2010 public forum
PHILADELPHIA, June 17 – State Rep. Angel Cruz, D-Phila., announced today that a public forum on the 2010 Census will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, July 6 in the Community Room of Villas del Caribe located at 167 W. Allegheny Ave. in Philadelphia.
Representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau
will be on hand to provide information.
The forum is open to anyone wishing to receive information and ask questions about how the Census process will work.
"It is important that the community be informed about this process,"
Cruz said. "I invite all residents to take advantage of this opportunity
to learn more about the Census."
The Census is the effort, required by the U.S. Constitution, once every 10 years to count everyone living in the United States. The information gathered helps to determine critical decisions from congressional representation to the allocation of more than $300 billion annually in federal funds.
