Thomas to host 181 Training Day Seminar on Thursday
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 9 – State Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, D-Phila., will host the 181 Training Day Seminar Thursday, Jan. 10. It will be held at the Morris Chapel Baptist Church at 12th Street and Lehigh Avenue in Philadelphia.
Informational booths will be available from 10 a.m. to noon, and lunch and a roundtable discussion regarding grant opportunities for training will take place from noon to 2 p.m.
The media is invited to attend.
The seminar is a showcase of employment, training and career services available to residents of the community.
Thomas said he is partnering with several community and service groups, as well as business owners and other employers, to offer the event. The legislator said informational booths will have resources about available training programs.
“The aim of this event is to provide local people with the tools to move from under-employment to self-sufficiency,” Thomas said. “It is incredible to see what people can achieve with just a little help from their neighbors.”
Residents looking for more information about the seminar should call Thomas’ constituent service office at 215-232-1210 and ask for Evan Jones or Conchetta Logan.
