Donatucci announces Property Tax/Rent Rebate application deadline is June 30

PHILADELPHIA, June 4 – State Rep. Bob Donatucci, D-Phila., is reminding senior citizens and others who qualify for state property tax and rent rebates that the deadline to apply for this year’s program is June 30.

Under the program’s recently expanded income eligibility guidelines, homeowners who meet other qualifications can have a total household income of up to $35,000 a year and still receive a property tax rebate. The income eligibility limit for renters remains $15,000, but both homeowners and renters can disregard half of their Social Security or federal railroad retirement benefits when calculating income.

“The property tax and rent rebate program offers great assistance to Pennsylvania’s seniors and those who need extra help,” Donatucci said. “It would be beneficial for those who are interested to find out if they qualify and apply as soon as possible.”

To qualify for the program, residents must be 65 or older, a widow or widower 50 or older, or 18 or older with a permanent disability.

Homeowners and renters who participated in last year’s rebate program should have already received this year’s application in the mail. Those who have not applied before or who need help with their applications should visit Donatucci’s constituent service office located at 1809 Oregon Ave., Suite 201, or call his office at 215-468-1515.
