James presents $110,000 in grants to community organizations
PHILADELPHIA, March 28 – State Rep. Harold James, D-Phila., today awarded $110,000 in grants to 20 community organizations at a special meeting of the Point Breeze Community Network at the Dixon House, 1920 S. 20th St.
James said the programs aided by the grants include emergency services, day camps, food programs, scholarships, performing arts, computer training, youth programs, and after-school and community programs.
"I'm honored to award these grants to our community-based organizations. They are vital to local residents," James said. "These grants help them to carry on their good work right here and improve the quality of life in the community."
James said the House of Representative's Legislative Initiative Program funded the grants, which ranged from $500 to $10,000, and were distributed through The Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition.

The Point Breeze Community Network is a consortium of community-based organizations that meet monthly to exchange ideas and resources.
