Blackwell to host senior fair
HARRISBURG, July 1 – State Rep. Thomas Blackwell, D-Phila., will host a senior fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 11 at the Opportunities Tower III, 5524 Haverford Ave. in Philadelphia.
In addition to free health screenings, the event will include exhibits, free food and beverages, and information on such health issues as long-term care, disability, home safety and the PACE and PACENET prescription drug assistance programs.
"One thing I have particularly enjoyed as a state representative has been assisting people in finding state services that will help them overcome challenges for which they thought there was no answer," Blackwell said. "I invite all of my older constituents to stop by and see if there are programs they can benefit from, programs they may be unaware of or thought they did not qualify for."
