Philadelphia job fair set for Aug. 12
Prepare for the fair with a seminar on job-seeking skills Aug. 11
HARRISBURG, July 27 – State Rep. Vanessa Lowery Brown announced she will co-sponsor an educational seminar on job-seeking skills Wednesday, Aug. 11, followed by a job fair Thursday, Aug. 12 in Philadelphia.
The seminar and fair are separate events and will be held on different days.
"Getting jobs for as many people as possible in the 190th Legislative District is one of my priorities," said Lowery Brown. "These free events are one way to help as many people as possible in the midst of this difficult economy. In just two days, people can learn how to prepare a resume and interview, and then land a job."
Here are the details:
ü JOB-SEEKING SKILLS SEMINAR: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at the West Philadelphia Employment Advancement Retention Network center, 5070 Parkside Ave. – Learn how to write a resume, dress for success and brush up on interviewing skills. Hear motivational talks.
ü JOB FAIR: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 12 at the School of the Future, 4021 Parkside Ave. – Employers will be in attendance, and some will give on-the-spot interviews. Bring your resume.

State Sen. Vincent Hughes, D-Phila., city Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. and the EARN center are partners in the events. The theme is "Let's all work together."
