Waters celebrates season of giving with toy give away
PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 24 – State Rep. Ronald G Waters, D-Phila./Delaware, helped to bring an early Christmas to many children in his legislative district this week by participating in a toy giveaway.
"This is the season that we are reminded that when you are blessed you should always be a blessing," Waters said. "We should never forget the joy in giving."
Waters partnered with a charitable organization to give a variety of stuffed animals, dolls and toys to needy children at Yeadon Borough Hall in Delaware County and Turner/Bluford Head Start program in Philadelphia. Approximately 350 toys were given to children at the two locations.
Waters said the smiles on the children's faces when they received the toys reminded him of the joy the simple things bring in life. He also said many of the children and their teachers expressed their gratitude after everyone received their gifts.
Waters also encouraged the children to excel in their studies and continue to behave well both at home and at school.
No public money was used to obtain the toys that were distributed.
