Bishop's energy and community workshops in district a big success

HARRISBURG, March 19 – Rep. Louise Williams Bishop said hundreds of her constituents have received valuable information to help them save energy and money, including rebates they may be eligible for, tax credits and new programs that can help homeowners with their expenses.

Bishop said the Energy Coordinating Agency in connection with her office, the city and the Office of Housing and Community Development, held six energy conservation workshops throughout the district.

In addition, Bishop held two community meetings with city officials and one of those meetings   featured Charles Ramsey, Philadelphia Police commissioner, and Everett Gillison, Philadelphia's deputy mayor. Both officials discussed public safety and law enforcement issues in Philadelphia.

"The workshops and community meetings were both informative and beneficial to my constituents," Bishop said. "Individuals are more knowledgeable now about where to obtain specific information in city and state offices."

Bishop said she is looking forward to holding more community meetings in the coming months.
