Manderino honors local students for academics, leadership
HARRISBURG, June 26 – State Rep. Kathy Manderino, D-Phila./Montgomery, recently recognized local students who have excelled in leadership and scholastic skills over the past year.
Participation in the annual award program is voluntary -- schools in the 194th Legislative District decide whether or not to participate. Principals identify students who have shown exceptional leadership in their schools and communities, or who have made other important accomplishments over the year.
Manderino then presents the outstanding students with the Student Leadership Award and the Certificate of Achievement Award for their actions.
"These students have done an exceptional job both in the classroom and as emerging leaders," Manderino said. "They deserve our recognition and encouragement for their outstanding efforts."
Students from the following schools in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township have been presented with awards:
· Academy in Manayunk – Caitlyn Richter, Leadership; Alec Kay, Achievement
· Bala Cynwyd Middle School – Andrew Charles Pasquier, Leadership; Carter M. Rauch, Achievement
· Cook-Wissahickon – Austin Baggley, Leadership; Nicholas Neri, Achievement
· James Dobson School – Patrick Hillanbrand, Leadership; Mary DiBricida, Achievement
· Holy Child School – Carissa Manley, Sean Truhan, Leadership; Logan Williamson, Achievement
· William Levering School – Chrisna Sinn, Leadership; Isaac Preston, Achievement
· Lower Merion High School - Isaac Smith, Leadership; Jennifer Smolen, Achievement
· Roxborough High School – Sophia Paulmier, Leadership; Shayna Safford, Achievement
· Walter Biddle Saul High School – Dustine Bartell, Leadership; Amanda Forstater, Achievement
· Shawmont School – Latrice Smith, Leadership; Dion Stovall, Achievement.
