Manderino announces $21,000 in grants to fund historical organizations
HARRISBURG, Aug. 7 – State Rep. Kathy Manderino, D-Phila./Montgomery, announced that the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission has awarded grants totaling $21,000 to two local organizations.
The organizations that received grants are Friends of Laurel Hill Cemetery, $8,500; and Friends of the Japanese House and Garden, $12,500. "With this funding, many diverse projects can be supported to preserve the heritage of our state," Manderino said. "It is important for museums and historical organizations to continue their work of educating the public about Pennsylvania's history." The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is responsible for assisting nonprofit organizations and local organizations with the collection, conservation and interpretation of Pennsylvania's historic heritage.
