Williams holding workshops on how to navigate state and local agencies
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 11 – State Rep. Jewell Williams, D-Phila., is hosting two free community workshops to answer common questions and help constituents learn the policies of several state and local agencies, including the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Division of Vital Records and the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
The forums will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at One Day at a Time Inc., 2542 N. Broad St.; and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Quality Community Health Care Inc., 2501 W. Lehigh Ave.
Williams said the workshops will include an overview on driver's license and registration matters, license restoration, traffic court, handicap parking requirements and how to obtain a birth certificate or death record.
"I have hosted these forums for many years, because at one point or another, most of us have been frustrated or unsure of where to go for certain government issues," Williams said. "This is an opportunity for you to learn more about your state and local governments, any changes in the services you are already familiar with, and most importantly, how to access services."
Williams says prior registration is preferred, but not required. Additional forums are being scheduled. For additional information or to register, contact Williams’ constituent service office at 215-763-2559.
