Pick up your free gun lock, help prevent accidental shootings
The city of Philadelphia recently released encouraging figures that may help it shed its notorious distinction as, "Killadelphia." Crime is down in Philadelphia, with a 10 percent across-the-board drop in violent crime in 2009. However, gun injuries are not always caused by violent criminals. It is extremely important to properly lock and store your legal firearms. Firearm-related injuries are a leading cause of death in children, including deaths from unintentional injuries, homicide and suicide.
I am constantly urging people to
use gun locks to prevent accidental shootings. You can stop by my district
office at 2220 N. Broad St. to pick up a free gun lock while supplies last, or call me
for more information at 215-763-2559.
Owning a firearm is a privilege that requires responsibility and respect. Too many shooting accidents could have been prevented by taking proper precautions. Please stop by for a gun lock today.
