Williams announces 19th Susquehanna Festival celebration
PHILADELPHIA, June 11 – State Rep. Jewell Williams, D-Phila.,
and the Susquehanna Community Festival Council have announced that the 19th annual
Susquehanna Community Festival will take place Saturday, June 28 along West Susquehanna
Avenue between blocks 1400 and 2200.
Williams said the festival is a community celebration of peace, prosperity and health.
"The festival is a popular Philadelphia tradition that many families have enjoyed for almost two decades," Williams said. "We're very excited to announce another year of fun and informative activities that the entire family can take part in. Meet your neighbors, dig into some good food, and see some great local entertainment."
Williams noted that the Susquehanna Community Festival is the largest community-sponsored festival in Philadelphia.
This year, the festival will feature City and State Services Day, as well as the Keystone Mercy Health Plan's Children’s and Health Pavilion. An exciting mix of local, regional and national recording artists is also lined up. This year’s headliners will feature area gospel and praise dance teams, DJ Kool, Chubb Rock, Jerry Butler and Stephanie Mills.
For more information, residents should contact Williams' constituent service office at 215-763-2559 or the Susquehanna Neighborhood Advisory Council at 215-765-2200.
