Youngblood announces scholarship opportunity for women
HARRISBURG, June 10 – State Rep. Rosita C. Youngblood, D-Phila., announced today that applications are being accepted for the National Foundation of Women Legislators and National Rifle Association's 11th annual Bill of Rights Essay Contest.
"As president of the National Foundation of Women Legislators, I am pleased to announce this scholarship opportunity for female students looking to further their education," Youngblood said. "I am proud to be part of an organization that recognizes the importance of education."
Seven female high school juniors and seniors will be awarded a $3,000 college scholarship and receive a trip to the 2009 NFWL annual conference.
The theme of this year's essay contest is "Audacity of Change." Those wishing to apply for the contest may contact the NFWL office at 202-293-3040, Ext. 1006, or fill the application out online at www.womenlegislators.org.
The application deadline is July 19.
